Many of our members have used //quoted content//.
It is a good start since the puny " mark is too hard to see.
However I would like to propose an enhancement.
How about pseudo smart quotes as a standard?

If you mean the auto quote that's on other sites, thank god we won't see it here, all that happens is you end up with threads full of quotes of previous posts.
However, any suggestion on how to indicate a quote can only ever be that, a suggestion, you can't force people to all do it the same way.
