we have just moved house and the property has lovely net curtains but they are a cream colour and they look dirty from the outside, are you able to dye them white and if so where can we buy the dye from
If they are made from a synthetic material it will be practically impossibe to dye them, if they are natural fabric ie cotton then dying will be easy, Robert Dyas sell dyes. Be warned though, if the thread used to sew the hems etc are synthetic they will stay their original colour even after dying.
there is a product specifically for this job....not sure of the maker's name but it is by the same company that makes Glow-white. It is called net curtain whitener.......does the job well.
I have had Ivory coloured voiles and was astonished at how grubby they looked from outside, you either learn to love them or replace with similar white nets. You will never get cream nets white.
