flights to stornoway
hi, i would like to go to stornoway in feb next year. My nearest airport is southampton. I don't think you can go direct, so what is the best (by best i mean cheapest) route please?

Although driving may be the nicer way to travel, especially when you get north of Manchester, I think driving may cost you much more in fuel than the flights.

the 720-odd miles (shown above) will take you around 15 hours to drive, this doesn't include the ferry journey from Uig to Harris.
since there are only 2 ferries per day, some careful planning would be required to undertake this journey in one go, so an overnight stop is almost inevitable. this would likely make the driving option more expensive, notwithstanding there's 3 of you and the cheapest air fare is around £100 each, each way.
