How can I get rid of or lessen a small dent in a pine table?

I don't know how it got there but we've got a small dent in oil grained pine coffee table do any of you know of any ways I can lessen or remove it.Nothing too complicated please. Thanks in advance .

Simple ! You need to raise the grain.


cover it with a damp cloth, let it soak for a while, then run an iron over it. Hope it does the trick..

As logman suggested and also ice cubes can work. You can also blend in the edges with a billiard ball.
