Article in the Grauniad. Apparently, the Malaysian Govt are so concerned that gayness is catching, like the common cold, or a virus perhaps, that they are introducing "how to spot the gays" seminars around the country, as well as setting up their own "gay camps" for the gays to be deconverted.

Another religiously inspired measure, it seems. Why does religion have such a problem with sex? And, judging by what sexual acts they consider reprehensible and worthy of fines or punishment, it is absolutely the last place in the world you would want to live - unless you were a masochist, I suppose :)

From the article it appears it is easier to spot the gay boys rather than the gay girls
"According to a handout issued at a recent seminar, signs of homosexuality in boys may include preferences for tight, light-coloured clothes and large handbags, local media reported.

For girls, the details were less clear. Girls with lesbian tendencies have no affection for men and like to hang out and sleep in the company of women, the reports said."

Can't help but chuckle a little at the wording of it all...

And you call such information news? Ye're 'avin' a giraffe!
The girl bit was written by the minister for stating the blooming obvious

Pity it isn't catching... if everyone during their life had a bout of gaynitis the world would be a more understanding place
Under civil law offenders can be jailed
What sort of punishment is that for a gay person?
one of my uncles was gay, he went through hell for it. he was ostracized by most of my family - well the male side, all my aunties loved him. he died a couple of years ago and it was my aunties and some of my cousins who cared for him in hospital (no nhs, if someone doesn't look out for you, you're in trouble).
he was a lovely man and my fave uncle. how he was treated was despicable and that was his own family :-(
this was in Malaysia btw
At the moment I am wearing loose, light coloured clothing and don't own a handbag, so that's me 33.333333%% gay then?
loving the term 'gay camps'
One of the sick things about this is that it assumes children have a sexuality.
The ignorance that religion promotes is quite astonishing – and actually disturbingly dangerous. Some years ago we had a ‘born again’ Muslim here – a convert to Christianity – who, in an effort to cure a gay friend, arranged for an exorcism to be performed on him.
And did you get any feedback on that naomi?
//How to spot he gays//

Err ... open my curtains??

LOL
It's not just the Islamic world that believes that homosexuality can be cured.

//that his methods include encouraging arousal in patients//

Is there any level on which that does not, in itself, sound gay ??
Perhaps they used Iris Robinson as a teaser
I have a briliant gaydar.................Years ago I told the daughter that her neighbour was gay.............he married (a woman) yesterday.
Ladybirder, he said his friend was 'cured' - but he said a lot of things I had my doubts about. ;o)
I think is somebody was exorcising me naomi, I'd be cured as well;-)
Ladybirder, Ha ha! Precisely! With friends like that ..... and all that. ;o)
