Anyone know about extra-thin insulation boards?

I have an area of steel running through our barge that needs insulating which can't be foam sprayed and the material needs to be affixed directly - it can't be screwed. The insulation also can't be more than 6mm thick: it'll be faced with 2mm ply.

I've checked a variety of materials used in underfloor heating and not found anything so far that's suitable, but may have missed something.

I've also been looking at Celotex 3mm and 6mm boards - could they be glued?

Any other thoughts welcome: at the moment I've got a total area of approx 300 square feet of cold bridging that badly needs sorting out.

I should have thought that the Celotex could be glued, sloopy maybe contact adhesive.

Used contact adhesive many times, sloopy. Can't say that I have on Celotex though only because I've never had to though.

The multi layer roof insulation is quite effective and waterproof. I think a 6mm roll is equivalent to about 1.5" of polystyrene. It will also compress at pinch points so you can have more layers where there is room.

This is a right pain of an issue for me: I can't allow condensation to form between the insulation and the steel, hence the rest is foamed.

We recently redecorated our spare bedroom and put something very similar to this on the external walls.
I'm not sure about this particular brand, but ours was available in 2mm and 3mm thicknesses, so you could possibly use 2 or 3 layers if you wanted.
I don't know how easy it would stick to steel, but it went on our walls easily enough.

I've always found their Tech people very helpful.
Also, there are very good adhesives for Celotex/Kingspan boards. You simply squirt them on with a standard 300mm mastic type gun.

Quite often, I've had to add insulation to window reveals to prevent cold bridge. Because thickness is (very) limited (thickness of window frame), thin board is excellent
