Thank you for your answer in my hip problem post. Saying that intermittent claudication (sp) should be eliminated prepared me and stopped me waffling.
It was his first thought when I described the symptoms. He would have liked an urgent appointment but can't do that until he sees the blood test results in about two weeks. I have a routine appointment with a vascular surgeon.
My symptoms seem severe especially as my legs are now cramping for no reason and I am coming to a standstill in dangerous places but visually my legs don't fit the diagnosis though the pulses were not great when he felt them. I can't recall what he said my legs should look like.
He explained the treatment if it is confirmed, which I prefer to the wait and see
answer often given. Also,I can it seems, push other arteries into taking over from damaged ones by walking through the pains which is what I have been doing til last week.
And my hips seem perfect! Haven't heard that in a long time. :-)
So... looking not too bad and thank you for helping. xx

I would think so, I would do a runner too.
Got dinner tonight with a family party (not my family) and the mater is one of those trapped at Roscoff with the Brittany Ferries strike - trying to get to Caen to cross to Weymouth - an extra 350 miles of driving and no bunk for the crossing last night. Bet she will be in good form this evening!

Evening Sqad. Just had the appointment with the vascular guy. As suspected, and the left leg is worse than the right but I do have pulses! He is arranging a CT scan and angioram/plasty. Are they the same thing?
There is the possibility that we can sort/improve things without surgery. The test results will decide that I guess.
He has recommended aspirin daily which I am okay with and statins which I have hoped to avoid. I don't know why....gut feeling. I would appreciate your view on the statins.
He also said something else which I am not sharing...non medical but worth the fee alone. ;-)
Thank you for your input...invaluable and deserves a Gness Guinness drinking lesson. x
