retuning an unsuitable item

Advice needed please - I bought a folding camp bed from Amazon supplied from another company. When it arrived and I assembled it it was unstable and I was very unhappy with it. The compny is saying it is fit for the purpose but will take it back but I must pay the postage - which comes to about 35/40% of the purchase price.
Anyone know what my rights are (if any!) about this or do I just have to pay up?

have you been to the returns support centre and asked for advice? they should be better able to assist than on AB.

You're looking very fetching, dotty!

rsvp, it will say in the terms and conditions somewhere that the freight/postage is non-refundable. That is the risk you take with buying such an item unseen. I only buy small things online, unless it is local with a 'return to base' option.

thanks Wildwood - have contacted Amazon and they are dealing with it, they seem to agree that the item is not suitable for the purpose originally intended - if the company involved won't refund the postage, Amazon will issue a credit for my account. Great service.
