Enjoying a few days away in Yorkshire last week we were really surprised to see some of the trees were already turning colour - this is unusually early. We are told the Autumn colours will be spectacular this year due to the wet Summer. Can anyone please suggest a day out (within easy reach of Leicestershire) where the colours are worth seeing and photographing? We have been to Westonbirt (too far for a day) but could travel up to about 50 miles.
A bit far for us unfortunately. I saw a newspaper headline today which said we are due for an early, fierce winter so you'd better look out your long johns Ann.
I love autumn it's my favourite time of year. I've always fancied going to one of those woodland parks where you stay in a cabin. Going for walks during the day then snuggling up with a glass of wine in front of a wood burning stove at night. Bliss :)
You might be able to find somewhere near you on this site Anne.
