I thought I'd already asked this today, but could not have signed in, as I can't find it here now ....

am completely stumped on this one today.

"Perhaps you can crack the code in this ancient city which has been fought over for centuries. But be prepared to cross the line if you want to head from north to south. It's one of the world's richest places, so perhaps it's no surprise that one businessman on the run found it a comfortable bolthole. Name the city".

The pictures are:

(a) a drawing of a knight on horseback, brandishing his sword. He's got the cross of St. George on his uniform.
(b) a mural/wall graffiti, there's a house within a red bit, with an arrow pointing to the top left-hand side. Can't really make this out.
(c) 4 legs in ribbed stockings or tights.
(d) some modern-day jockeys (horses) racing around a track, making all the sand on the track fly everywhere.

Nicosia in Cyprus? Asil Nadir found refuge in Cyprus but that may not be the correct city

Probably is Nicosia. The green line, UN buffer zone runs through it.
