I want to read about the important (sports) news first so I always read a newspaper from the back page to the front, after the sports section quickly flicking through the rest of the paper

Anyone else only read what they want to read or do people actually read papers from cover to cover?

I just read the first few pages for the headlines. I don't actually buy papers but I read the Metro which someone brings to work.
I never make it to the back pages. I skip past the headlines much of the time too; in this age of the internet, they usually feel like yesterdays news.

Its the bits in the middle for me - art reviews, books, money, travel and other editorial stories.
I really only read online and just pick the bits I'm interested in. I used to buy the MOS but there was so much I did't read that it was a waste.
No, i read em, up to the sports pages. I don't even bother turning those pages at all, after the crossword the paper's binned.
As I'm retired I now have the time, and inclination, to read my newspaper from cover to cover. I've been surprised by the amount of interesting and useful information I've found, especially book and theatre reviews, which I didn't bother with when I was working. I've also become a crosswords fanatic.............
I only buy a paper when the weather is cold (need it for lighting the wood burner). Rarely read any of it, but do have a go at the crossword and sudoku.

I was talking to a businessman at work and he was saying how people these days just want to read headlines and `bullet points` as we`re so used to scanning headlines via the internet and our attention span/wish to read anything in depth has been diminished. I think there`s some truth in that. I only read a newspaper from cover to cover (apart from the sport) when I`m at work (in the middle of the night and there is nothing much else to do).
I try and read cover to cover when I do buy a paper, although mostly read my news online nowadays. I would be most interested in the Editorials, Letters and the analysis section, financials, and sport..
I get a paper delivered every day and since I retired, like craft, I can sit and read it unlike when I worked it was just scan over to anything that caught my eye, never get to the sport bit as it dont do it for me.
I only pull the crosswords out, I find the headlines to be too sensationalist so I don't bother reading. OH reads from back to front, then folds the paper in a way that's unfathomable, really pisses me off.
We get the Independent i which is a little gem of a paper at 20p. Do the small cryptic over breakfast and the big one after our evening nosh. In between we read just about everything apart from OH, who skips the sport. Finally it is made into firelighters for the woodburner. We waste nowt in Yorkshire.
I buy the Daily Star and only skip the X-Factor/Big Brother/Jungle garbage they insist on including. I also skip the racing form pages, but read the rest.
I buy the I. 20p weekdays, 30p Saturday. Cover to cover in 20 minutes.
I always start at the back to get the footie latest and then skim read the rest, stopping at points of interest. Unless I'm in work, then I pore over it.
