Should the Conservative's Chief Whip just 'Get on His Bike'?

Personally, I think he should resign before pressure is put upon the PM to sack him for his stupidity. The very fact that he has apologised to the policeman, with whom he had an altercation, is enough to suggest that he stepped outside of sensible behaviour and is not worthy of a position in Government; which surely demands a level headed approach on matters.
