I got my nephew these two things when he was one, he loves them... also now my sister has a chance of finding her remote, keys and phone without baby prints all over them. (Added bonus is they all light up and make noises).

I bought my nephew really noisy books. One was a "Chuggington" book which plays THE most irritating song. My nephew loves it, my brother wants to kill me everytime he presses the button!

For one of my nephews 3rd birthdays I got him a little scooter that made engine and beeping noisy. It was doubly effective as not only did the noise drive them mad but the fact he refused to go anywhere without his scooter which he'd then either ride really quickly/slowly then get fed up after 10 minutes and one of them would have to carry it.
