a couple in their 60s got talktalk broad band
now they want to cancel it
12 month contract
to cancel they have to pay 100 pounds
they do not want to pay that
they want to know what they should do now

If the contract says that they need to give a certain amount of notice or pay a £100 charge then it's difficult to see a way out of it unless they appeal to the customer services area- maybe a director- saying how they really can't afford it.
But it depends on why they want to cancel- if it's because of poor service they may have a stronger case
Forefill their contract then tell them to Izz off.
if they have a contract for 1 year or 18 months then they have to complete that time before a release from the contract,it's standard procedure they should have read this before signing up.
if they have been with them for the contracted time then talk talk cannot charge them anything
