There seems to be a lot of effort in recent years to insult Mohammad, seemingly just for the heck of it. This has led to a lot of unpleasantness due to Muslims feeling they need to protest against this sort of thing and so in and so forth.

So why bother insulting him in the first place, what does it achieve?

Because it's fun to wind them up.
Naomi, I was wondering if Sith knew who he was :-) Having read some of his views I see a remarkable parallel with one of our more credulous ABers .
Jom, I do wish the man would just get on with it instead of trying to impress the listener by tediously quoting numbers at every mention of a Koranic verse - and he does it constantly - but despite his failings as a speaker, it seems Lightbulb and Sith are of one mind - they both think he's a bit of a hero. ;o)
So you think lightbulb and Sith are of one mind, as in schizophrenic?
I wouldn't say that exactly. ;o)

I hear you constantly talking about Richard Dawkins. Now, if i heard someone else talk about him than i could say that he is you as you share the same view? No. as there are lots of atheists who know him and listen to him, yet because i share a view with someone called sith (who if i remember rightly asked someone to show me his profile but no one did) than i am seen as being him. Seriously.
Stop trying to take people for fools. They're not.
im not "trying" to take people for fools. Im just giving a valid answer which you have not answered. i wonder why?
You want me to answer an answer? How does that work then? If you ask me a question, I'll answer it - but you haven't. If you want to maintain this ridiculous facade, learn the difference between 'then' and 'than'.
learn the difference between me and this sith person naomi, then you may start talking sense. To be honest, after a while i kind of just left it as i knew i would not change your opinion, but you now seem to use it as an excuse to everything i say which is pretty pathetic if you ask me. Im not expecting to change your view naomi. To be honest i dont want to. But i just find it pathetic and childish that you keep bringing up your same old point, like its going to answer everything.
You're right - you won't change my opinion.
glad we agreed on something.
also what gets me is that if you're allowed to draw Muhammad and say what you want than how come when you insult jews it is seen as anti-semitism?
Sith, you can insult a jew as much as you like, as long as you don't insult his ethnicity, then it becomes racism.
oh, i see...
