Dr Who

Very good storyline. (Can't decide which are the scariest - the weeping angels or cybermen - also can't believe I've been watching this series since I was 10!) I shall miss Amy and the cute Rory though.

I liked the way they tied the exit of the Pond/ Williamses in with the first story of the Weeping Angels. I too have watched the Doctor since the beginning, even throughout the hi-camp years. As for the scariest?, well I am not sure but I certainly look at statues a little differently these days!! ;-o

I admit there were a few episodes over the years when I lost a little interest - mainly due to the fact that it wasn't "cool" to watch Dr Who in your teens but apart from that, I've always been faithful. My favourite Dr was David Tenant but Matt Smith comes a pretty close second. When then first series began I found it quite scary - possibly because of it being in black and white and there'd been nothing like that for kids on TV. Very brave of the BBC.
I wonder if this revival of Dr Who would have been as successful if they had started it with another actor other than Chris Ecclestone. He certainly played the Doc with authority and a certain whimsy. Of course Billy Piper did no harm to the production whatsoever. I really can't choose a favourite Doc in this latest lot tho' I know who ( no pun) I liked least of the old ones.
My two least favourite doctors were Christopher Ecclestone (he grinned too much) and Tom Baker (over the top). I have forgotten a lot of the assistants but Rose was certainly the best. Catherine Tate the worst - even more over the top than Tom Baker. Long mey Dr Who reign! I thought the recent episode with the daleks ended hilariously with the daleks keep repeating "Doctor Who?" Great stuff!
i've been a fan of the doc for the entire 49 years, i'm not ashamed to admit that tom baker was my favourite of the earlier ones.
the bbc took a big risk bringing him back in 2005 - in a culture that had changed so much .. fortunately it worked, and has been a roaring success, and now a new generation of children can 'hide behind the settee'.
eccleston was delightfully eccentric -- tennant was superb, and i think kids prefer tennant .. smith has settled in quite well - and is developing his own style.
last night was a real tear-jerker and was one of the best 'companion leaves' stories ever. . we are now eagerly waiting for christmas for the special followed by the rest of this season.
well done to the writers and producers.
