Checking qualifications of private health pro

How much do you check out the qualifications of private healthcare professionals before you go and see them? Are you happy if they have recommendationd and a letters after thier name, or should they belong to a regulating body?

I presume that you mean Consultants.

GP referral is the safest method.

Personal recommendation by satisfied patients is a good guide.

Private Hospitals only employ doctors who have post graduate degrees of their respective Royal Colleges..e.g F.R C.S for surgeons M.R.C.P for physicians etc

My mother used to go to the library and look up consultants there - unfortunately I don't know what publication she used,(maybe The Lancet?) and this was in the days before the internet! I often google the doctors who are treating me.

Even if you aren't going through BUPA, you can use them to see if they are BUPA accredited, If they are Physiotherapists, they should be CSP members, if Occupational Therapists, members of the BAOT.
