It would have been better if he had waited until she was no longer his pupil......whatever age that may have been.

Not so frowned upon since lines have to be drawn somewhere, but the percentage difference it would have made is small. He would still be "the responsible adult", she still the "impressionable youth". And as jackthehat points out, he was in a position of authority which makes it worse.

He has only been married for a short time - about a year I think. Didn't take him long to fall by the wayside did it? I think he must be an extremely irresponsible idiot. There is no chance he will be able to resume his job in any place in Britain. So what are they going to use to live on? If I was his wife I would already have proceedings in place to divorce him and if there is anything left to take, to make sure I took it. And he will be on the register of sex offenders if he returns to Great Britain. What a future to look forwad to!!

When I was at school one of the young male teachers and a female student had a thing for each other for a couple of years. Everyone could see it.

However he wasn't married and they had the sense to keep a lid on it while she was a student They were married soon after she left school.

Most wished them well.
