Mark on wooden table

I put a hot dish on a mat on my dining table but the edge of the dish was not quite on the mat and I have a white mark on my table, does anybody know how to get this mark out.

Damp tea towel and lightly rub a warm iron over it.

A little mayonaisse works wonders on dark wood.

Depends on whether the table is varnished or waxed. Try rubbing a little white spirit into it with a cloth. If it doesn't get rid of the mark it won't do any harm.
