i think in this "kind of case" where the guy who's van she got in obviously knowing him like most people in this village, should be subject to some kind of "torture" to make him say what hes done with the girl .time is of the essence in this case she "may" still be alive and wandering around starving and cold.to hell with the human rights act ,with this guy

Far too much of a coincidence if you ask me - the kids reported her getting into the 'drivers' side which the policeman interpreted as maybe being a left hand drive vehicle and maybe a landrover - and this man has a left hand drive landrover! I agree with deggers, give the father ten minutes alone with him and I bet he would get the truth out of him.

Torture is not an option in a civilised society, but what is missing from this debate is any mention of punishn fr t guilty party.
Like ummm states. I too used to come and go as I pleased in my childhood, but would I be worried if my grandchildren were allowed to do that YOU CAN BE SURE I WOULD. Back then we had the correct punishment for this type of offence. Just bring back capital punishment, for certain crimes, that would deter somte b------s.

I do not accept any form of torture. Torture is abhorrent on any level. I might be "in a society" that does it, but it doesn't make it right nor acceptable to me. Anyway, we are not actually discussing Guantanomo Bay, we are discussing the abduction of a 5 year old girl in Wales and the question of whether we should torture a man who is innocent at this point.
Absolutely no way should we torture him. As yet he has not been charged with anything. Even if he is charged it is for a jury to find him guilty (unless he pleads guilty).
I'm guessing you're away with your pitchfork now though......

just have to vent my feelings over this but read "beyond belief" it's heartbreaking, and if you drive to saddleworth moor at night youll see how terrified this little lad Kieth Bennett would have been .i know if's off the subject

I am not sure what Keith Bennett (and I know the case well) has to do with the fact that you are advocating torturing an (as yet) innocent man. Brady admitted to the killing of Keith, Bridger has yet not admitted nor been charged with anything. YOu are blurring the edges between punishment and investigation.
I maintain that Bridger should not be tortured. Even though Brady was guilty I still maintain that torturing him to find Keith Bennett's resting place is wrong. I guess I will be marked down as a hand wringing human rights brigade idiot now.
