dvd player

When I play a dvd disc on my Teac player it keeps freezing and jerking.Why is that? It's about three years old. Do I need a new one?x

Same dvd or diff ones? Mine does the same occ but i usually find the dvd needs cleaning.

It could be just the player needs a clean. You can buy a cleaning disc you put though the player which may cure it. The second thing is the laser part of the machine, though I'm not sure about cleaning that bit and finally the discs themselves have to be absolutely clean with no finger marks on them.
Others may come up with other ideas.
