How to save a copy of mobile phone contacts
7 Answers
Once upon a time I had a little gadget that I could attach to my Nokia Classic 6303 mobile phone and this little gadget saved all my contacts and numbers and kept them safe.
Thus in the event of the unthinkable and I lost my phone or it was stolen I still had a complete copy of my contacts which I could then import into a new phone.
In a fit of generosity I gave this little gadget away and now can't find a replacement!!
I would be very grateful of some of you out there could point me in the direction where I can get such a thing.
I am sure there are other methods of making/and saving a separate copy of your contacts - and as I have nearly 300 of them - you can imagine the thought of losing them fills me with dread.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received - as long as they are easy ones!!!

Hi
I don't know what Nokia suite you have but mine is Nokia Suite 3.3.89, and I do not have to attach my phone to read my contacts, my messages, etc, etc.
When I double click on it's icon, it it comes up on my screen with all my Contacts, Gallery, Messages and Music.

Hello again.....sorry for delay - house guests take precedence .....LOL
Now then OG - first of all - my apologies for the duplication - heaven alone knows how that happened - I tell you old age and technology do NOT mix!
However I have noted BOTH entries and am very grateful for your help - both of you!
SO - AOG (Here's another!!) yes indeed I did get the Nokia PC Suite and have done all the backups there but what I want is a copy I CAN READ AND SEE - which does of course does not happen and indeed the said back-up "copy" is only visible when the phone is attached to the laptop - as I said before - this rather defeats the object of the exercise, if the phone is LOST!!!!!

Good Morning Gentlemen!.....having fed and watered the house-guests .....I decided to have another go at using the Nokia suite as you suggested.
I backed up the bits I wanted as directed and then had a brainwave...well I am smug enough to think so anyway...LOL
I attached my spare nokia 633i (having deleted the way-out-of -date contacts on both sim card and phone ) and then "restored " them from the Nokia back-up .......SIMPLES!
Had it not been for your suggestions though - I would have been stumped yet again....so I thank you both very much..at least now - should the worst happen - I have a working alternative!!

Hello again AOG ..you are a STAR! Please go to the top of the class!!
Believe it or not I have both Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Suite on my laptop and liked the PC Suite better as it seemed simpler (but you need to have a phone attached to see the contents!) - and the Nokia Suite kept trying to get me to take on lots of bells and whistles and aps I did not want!!!
However - when I checked out the Nokia Suite just now - it was an old 3.3 something or other version!!!
SO - with your excellent prompt - I downloaded the new one = 3.5.34 and VOILA - within seconds my contacts appeared - ditto pics etc and - better still - when I disconnected the phone and tried again - they all appeared as if by magic!
Thank you ever so much for persisting in trying to teach this old dog new tricks......LOL
