I suppose the nature of swearing has changed over the years and swear words in the 30's dont have the same impact that they do now. I suppose you could be specific - when was the bl**dy, the first f**k etc.

The first person to say f*ck on screen is widely reported to be Doris Day. But I wouldn't be able to tell you the name of the film.

I've heard that Elizabeth Taylor was the first person to say f*ck on screen. Any truth to this?

in 1933 the original king kong film was edited in this country (uk) for it contained the word 'hell'. one of the troup described the mighty beast as 'angry as hell' far to naughty for the pre ww2 british public.
