Toddler sleeping pattern

Hey, not sure if this is in the right section but anyway... Im desperately after any advice in trying to get my 21month old daughter to sleep through the night. Shes fine at actually dropping off at her bedtime of around 8-9ish but come 12oclock when I am asleep she wakes up screaming.... I have a night light for her and i go in, lie her back down and give her dummy but that seems to be the problem - actually seeing me. As soon as i leave the room she screams like shes being murdered!!! This repeats for pretty much the whole of the night. My neighbors have started thumping the walls at her so i know its pissing them off too!!
My sister had the same problem but only worse with my nephew so im not very enthusiastic at taking her to a health worker as they did nothing for my nephew. Iv tried special bedtime bath solutions, massages, quiet time, reading stories, making sure shes not hungry or cold but she still wont sleep through!

I see that you are making sure she is not hungry or thirsty. There are some foods which can cause nightmares. She should not need anything to eat after 6 o'clock. You do not say if she is still having a bottle. This is not necessary unless her diet is depleted. It is a myth substantiated by massive advertising that "follow on" milk is necessary. A good varied diet is all that is required. If she will take it, try a little camomile tea sweetened with a little honey. Camomile has been used since ancient times. It may also be worth reducing her dairy intake as intolerance to dairy can cause this issue. Try it for a few weeks and see if it works. Good luck. Neighbours banging on walls is very upsetting for you.
