Grid fill was not too bad and I have the location name and the famous puzzle. Am in the middle of finding the various thematic elements, not sure whether I will press on tonight or have a break until tomorrow. Anyway fun so far so thanks Merlin. Have a sneaky suspicion that I will not be the first poster but have missed the thread. No doubt will be redirected!

I'm confused what your problem is with 5 down. I'm fairly sure it's got little to do with any specific poet, but someone from a different field of the arts...
Jim - I think they are talking about the clue giving the seventh letter for the down clues.
Yes, indeed, Staurologist, I yet again whinge about that anomaly that has caused many solvers to drop out of the 'all-corrects' (obviously I am one of them or I wouldn't perhaps have made such a fuss) but is blandly incorporated here (in 5d jim360 - look at your solution!). Of course, it would be difficult to find a word that gave the required letter with its speciality.

I agree about that required comma, too. I am surprised that got past the editors - but don't fancy the chances of anyone who chooses to read it the way it could be read grammatically - once in the direction you read the word, and as often as you like in the other!

Yes, Trux must be mollified by the superb turnaround in the golf!
There is in fact a perfectly standard way of rendering the "specialty" when using a non-specialist keyboard. I wasted ages trying to look for it in the clues!
Oh now I see what you are both talking about. In 22d is the poet one (which as I recall I had to guess at before I knew what was going on), and 5d is the accented character problem. I'm not fussed too much about that second one, indeed I liked the way the misprint was hidden.

And about the comma too! When you think about it like others already have, and I didn't until now, yes a comma ought to be required. I wonder if anyone would be cheeky enough to use that second way round and try and justify it...
