I have had flu jab for more than 10 years due to diabetes. And had this years one today too.
Never had any problems at all.
Only jab Ive felt is one I had a few years ago which they gave me at the same time as flu. I thin it was for pneumonia or something . You only have to have it every ten years so I guess I might be due a re-stab soon.
Made my arm and shoulder feel like a horse had kicked me for about 2 weeks!!
Depends on the skills of the person doing it, petal - round here the healthcare assistants are trained for flu vaccines, never had a problem with it. Last time they took blood, mind, was different, as they have problems finding my veins. This week it was fine again. All depends on who's doing it!
I started having flu jabs a few years ago, and never felt any ill-effects at all. But I did have a really bad bout of flu one year after having a jab. When I talked to my GP about it, he said that there are so many variants of the basic flu virus about that it's impossible to prevent it 100%. Interesting.
But it's still worth having it done IMO if you are in one of the 'at risk' groups.
