I suspect that a lot of people on here are retired or semi-retired.
I am now semi retired and the best thing about it for me is not having to get up, have a shower and wash my hair, dry my hair, put my make-up on, get smartly dressed, run the hoover round, sort the dogs out, put something in the slow cooker, fly out of the door.......................well not on Monday and Friday that is.
I was retired early due to ill health and at first after I'd managed to get all the jobs done the only good thing was I had plenty of time to spend walking and training Max my trusty GSD. Since Trish finished it's a lot better basically we get up when we want, go where we want, do what we want. The only bad thing is we've lost Max who used to go every where with us.
Not at the moment, ladybirder, neither Trish or I feel we could take on another dog at the moment but who knows? in a few months time maybe we'll make a visit to one of the local dogs homes.
I've been retired 3 years now and thought I would carry on my hobbies but I've taken up new ones and we have more time, (or so our daughters think), to look after our grandchildren.
I still do jobs for people to help keep the wolf from the the door but I can pick and choose which jobs I do and when.
Like you Paddy I don't know. I had to have my faithfull golden Lab put to sleep 3 years ago. I feel he is still here and can't bring myself to have another. Too many memories and things he used to do around the house fetch the mail Go walks .ect.
Why do pensioners always fill up the bus that goes to town for the school run, or getting to work on time. They do have all day, but they've got to be in for when the post office opens out of habit. Dont they get it via bank transfer these days. Gah, it winds me up. Then I have to stand up when ive actually paid £4 quid to go to work ..... with more old people
Tilly as you know my son and daughter each have a blue Staffie. They are lovely and beginning to settle now . Still mad at times but here quite a lot so it is home from home for them both.
I think it differs from county to county... i was of course being tongue in cheek but I picture them rocking by the door waiting like a kid at christmas waiting for that bus. My grandad was up and driving down to tesco at 5am so i guess my b us crowd have soent hours pottering around a home
cant wait to get a bus pass , will terrorise the driver , keep asking does he go to xyz (where I know he doesnt) ,pretend to not hear hos reply then say oh well I think Ill go tomorrow . hee hee
