None of the above
Up to the last General Election I had never missed a chance to vote, however I looked at the options and decided there wasn't one worth a light, so I didn't vote.
Nothing has changed, so no vote here either!

Ed, it might reflect current thinking if the poll included a 'none of the above' option.
I don't think at all that I'm alone in despairing of party politics, and to engage ordinary people in political processes there needs to be a way to enable a feeling like mine to be voiced.

As it is, you can choose to vote for a group you don't really go along with , or not vote at all. Or spoil your vote, which is daft.

I feel strongly that people should vote as good people died in the past for this privilege, but the current system is plainly not encouraging ordinary non-fanatical people. I know of many folk under 30 who have never bothered voting.
The same two parties keep getting the top slot, same old, same old... we need a change in this country, the Conservatives AND Labour have both changed this country beyond recognition. We need a new, fresh party and I for one will be voting UKIP. Time to get out of the EU once and for all, getting immigration down properly and swiftly. Nigel Farage CAN save this country. Vote UKIP to save this country before it is dead and buried!

If you've entered this comment without voting you have displayed your preference for none of the above.

I agree you're not alone though.

And why would they? There's nothing for them! I agree it is a shame. It's a bit of a cycle though - if younger people voted, politicians would court them more... as they don't, they don't!

LOL, so your idea of a "fresh new party" is one full of old Tory party members!?
Where was the option to vote for "None of the Above"
If your reasonably rich vote Con. Not keen on foreign immigrants and you're a tad racist vote BNP or UKIP (less racist). Love natural history and enjoy outdoors vote Green. Lab if you feel the very rich manipulate the whole political scene "even Lab." Lib-Dem much the same as current Lab and Con.

UKIP allied to the Tories, but not sure that is remotely feasible
