I was watching an old edition of top of the pops and America was on there ,they said that the group was formed by the sons of American personell based at Ruislip who married English women.
When I was a girl I lived near the base is there anyone else who lived there around the 50's

Would that be RAF Northolt?

I lived just up the road in Northolt. We used to cross the railway track to watch the airmen playing baseball. It's a recycling depot now.

RAF Northolt is a different site. The US base was on Victoria Road. It was a massive place which has largely been developed into a retail f
park.

Raf Northolt is on the western Ave , and you are right McMouse the base was where the retail park is now.I used to live off Field End Road ( remember the pig farm and the bridge with "paint your wagon Dave" writtrn on it ! ). I also remember the swimi=mmg pool being built in Northolt. Crossing the railway Tisk tisk Elf and Saftey would have a fit, we used to play on the embankment too as kids. Nice to hear from you all
