My mate reckons because we've labelled them as such, are no longer unidentified, and are therefor just FO's. How can i shut this pain in the jacksy up?

Perhaps he could call them LFOs (Labelled Flying Objects) although they still remain unidentified and as such are UFOs.

Litter is of course shorter but less exact.

because 'flying objects' can mean anything, from helicopters, planes, birds, insects etc - these are never called UFOs because we know what they are.

the 'unidentified' means we don't know what they are and so don't have any other name for them

UFO is not a NAME - its a descriptive term

1) Tell him that They are still unidentified, because we dont know waht they are. UFO is not an identification. It can relate to anything, and was origonaly used as a name for unidentified aircraft on radar (i.e enemy planes), and not ailens.

2) Give him a cslap on the back of the head and tell him that is not funny or clever, and just make him sound dumb.
