Why is it much easier for a right handed person to type with the left hand than it is to use the mouse?

I regularly swap mouse hands over to avoid RSI. I always change the buttons over as well.
Have you considered a trackball or a graphic tablet as alternatives to a mouse?

right handed but mouse on my left - can bat, kick ball (harder than right), play snooker and swing golf club left handed, writing on the left is lousy though.
