I'm putting this question here rather then destinations, hoping it'll get seen more here.
ok here's calling for a bit of help - my son has started uni in B'ham - can anyone recommend some indian shops in B'ham, Edgbaston or nearby area where I can look around or even sample some food, clothes or jewellery please all reasonably priced?
me and the oh don't like big shopping centres so they're a no no

Bus service is good, it'll take your son most places.
The Ladypool road (the balti belt) is not far from edgbaston,

There are quite a lot of indian shops in birmingham, however you will have to travel north of edgbaston to the soho road in handsworth, or east to alum rock and sparkhill, you can also try the markets in birmingham city centre
