We have a small apple tree in our back garden: yesterday there were six apples on it. This morning they had vanished. I think it is very unlikely that a person has taken them; the tree cannot be seen from the road and it is almost impossible to enter the garden from the outside without wading across a river. We do however have a number of squirrels in the area. Could they be responsible?
I work as a gardener, and this year squirrels have been taking the apples. The oak trees have not produced many acorns, so squirrels are having to resort to taking other foods. They are also eating conkers this year, which they really do not particularly touch most years.
