omg keep getting scared out my whits with these noisy ab ads

i've had to turn the sound off the laptop! they seem to play automatically

I usually keep the sound turned off. What ads produce the sounds and if I was listening to something else would the soundtrack of the ad cut across it?

It's annoying- I listen to radio 2 or 4 or listen to music while I'm on AB and every now and again music or shouting from an ad interrupts me. You can click on the speaker symbol on each ad to mute it but by then it's too late. It also annoys mrsfactor when an ad suddenly blares out while she's watching Downton Abbey or Great Bristish Bake Off

Get adblocker. I nearly jumped out of my skin when a strepsils add kicked in on Monday. Once I got adblocker they disappeared.

probably if they are flash based. I ended up getting ad blocker because of the noise and flashing.

You're probably right about that woofy, one good thing to come from no Flash on apple products.
