Can someone explain why so many people......

Involve themselves in Facetube, titter etc? All it seems to do is get people into trouble. I would argue that life is better than it's ever been with so many things going on, yet we are becomming ever sadder by living our lives on the internet.

I find twitter very useful for current updates on News items, science, medical and entertainment. I find Facebook marginally useful for similar reasons, and it has been both a benefit and a curse in reuniting me with people I had lost touch with.
Many people forget that twitter, facebook, these forums come to that are the equivalent of walking down a street, shouting out your opinions and thoughts by megaphone, and having them fixed there for all to see, for life. People are learning that fact, sometimes painfully.

Facebook has never got me into trouble, in fact I find it a great social tool. I make sure I don't say sensitive things on there, I use private chat or another medium like phone/text -and if I continually don't like what someone else says then I 'mute' them, job done. 'Real life' tends to get me into trouble ha ha.
I don't think FB or twitter get anyone into trouble -its the people who use them get themselves into trouble. Can't see the point of Twitter (I am walking down the road to the shops) or FB (am in restaurant enjoying meal) sort of updates but boy oh boy wouldn't it be nice to 'unsubscribe' some people in real life ;-)
I love Facebook. It's been an invaluable way of keeping in contact with family overseas and ex-colleagues, sharing family history research, and generally cheering myself up if I'm having a rubbish day.
Yes, some people get themselves into trouble when they 'friend' complete strangers, or have their security settings so low that anyone can access their profile, but that's because they are numpties.
The internet is a wonderful thing, but it's up to individuals to take responsibility and make sure that it's their slave and not their master!
