Unfortunately after April 8th 2014 Microsoft will no longer support XP. See

XP will still work but will be exposed to any security threats people decide to create. And they will. It's sad but true.
Windows 7 (or 8) can still run a full copy of XP but inside a window using what Microsoft calls XP mode. I won't borrow you with details but it's fine just don't expect to play games or anything with it. Outlook express will be fine!

The main problem is setting it up in the first place if you're not techy as you need to download a few files first and then install them. Ironically you need a valid copy of XP unless you buy Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate.
