Re my earlier Prostate thread. Had my Cystoscopy and TURP operation on Wednesday 12th,all went well and discharged after 2 days ie.Friday afternoon.
At 3.30am next morning woke up in extreme pain and could not pass water, wife called ambulance and admitted to local hospital.I was fitted with a catheter and they removed over a litre of urine.Discharged following day Sunday with catheter in situ, very uncomfortable to wear and had 2-3 painful surges a day.Returned to Urology outpatients on Friday 28th to have catheter removed(such relief),drank 4 glasses of diluted orange and informed nurse when I was ready to urinate,My bladder was then scanned to make sure it was empty,it was ,I then had to repeat the process of 4 glasses etc. All was fine and sent home. At first I was urinating very frequently but nurse told me to expect this untill my bladder which had been rested for 2 weeks had retrained itself, feeling good now and things are now getting back to normal so my forthcoming holiday onthe 9th Oct.is all systems go
UPDATE...Feeling fine now and fully recovered.Well i was untill yesterdays mail arrived with another bill for £100 from my consultant. I had a final consultation with him last wednesday which lasted approx. 20 minutes and this is his fee, not bad eh.
Your £100 is cheap........it doesn't represent the time taken for the consultation but for the time covered in years upon years of training and study which went into the management of your case.
I guess your right sqad, and considering the way i am today as opposed to a few weeks ago it has been worth every penny of the total cost.
We never did get away on holiday on the 9th Oct,I didnt feel up to it so cancelled and have now rebooked for 16th Nov.Really looking forward to it.
