Although I went through the menopause ten years ago I am still getting a lot of hot flushes, could this be a symptom of anything else? Don't tell me to turn down my heating, I do that all the time! Thanks all.
I am still having hot flushes on and off 15 years after my hystectomy and having started flushing about 10 years ago. I think hormones levels can still fluctuate throughout your life.
Actually Sqad that hadn't entered my mind, but I wondered if it was a symptom of heart disease? As you may remember I am on statins. And TOWIE, I have commented on your Statin thread x
Lots of things can start the 'flushes' again after them stopping. Mine came under control, or more the fact I got used to them. Then last year when my thyroid meds didn't do their job, my flushes came back with gusto. They have now settled down again.
thought I was well over all that hot flush malarky years ago but it's started up again. Having done a bit of research and by asking around, a second episode of it is more common than you may imagine. Pain in the whatnot isn't it?
I get so hot in the night (not in that sense haha ;) I am always throwing the duvet off and cooling down under just one sheet ....... this is 13 years after the menopause and I don't have central heating in our house. I never ever have hot flushes during the day ........
Don't want to freak you ladies out, but my aunty had an hystectomy in her thirties she says she still had hot flushes on and off until she was eighty, she is eighty three now.
Don't know if its related but I started taking Zinc and Kelp as I have an underactive thyroid but not low enough for medication. The flushes tended to get worse after taking these, so I have stopped taking them and haven't had a flush today ...
