I've just quit Sky TV. Had a small bill to pay. Sent them a cheque. Got a letter back saying "We don't take cheques. We've destroyed yours". What is my legal position hee?
A cheque is not legal tender only cash is.
The only way I sugest is to make a credit or debit card payment or to give a friend cash and ask them to do it on your behalf.
Some shops local to me do not take cheques.
Cheques are being phased out by lots of companies. Just ring them up and pay by debit card. Only cash is really legal tender and evn that within certain limitations. The legal tender thing though is not really the point here.
