Instead of standing firm and telling Europ to 'go away' Cameron seems to be ploughing on in the 'I dont care what everyone else thinks'. either that or he is so weak he couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag.
This was overruled in the commons by a vast majority. If it goes ahead it will prove the UK parliament plays second fiddle to Europe and may as well be disbanded. No doubt Blair his laughing his **** off.
Yes I know Jake, EU and ECHR are different. But in my book both are Europeans telling us what to do. We should get out of both.
The UK does not have a history of human rights abuse, indeed we help many so this is nonsense.

Or did you mean that we don't have a history of human rights abuse of white middle class professional men ?
This story is being whipped up by the press and right-wing Tories trying to oust Cameron.
The ruling just says that *some* prisoners should have the right to vote - the Government could easily restrict it to anyone incarcerated for less than a year and it'd be "job done"
In fact it looks like they'll be doing something very similar to that from the use of the word "limited"
I seem to recall I predicted this at the time
This is nothing about prisoners it's all about the struggle for power in the Tory party - much like that poll Ashcroft published

Not sure it is a U-Turn by Cameron. It is more of the Omnishambles. The Government left hand not knowing what the Government right hand is doing.
//The Prime Minister moved to clarify his position and told the Commons: "No one should be in any doubt. Prisoners are not getting the vote under this government."
However, his comments appeared to contradict those of his Attorney General, who earlier suggested that the UK would have to accept a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and fulfil its international obligations. //
