Windows 8 and Office 2003 non compatible

I had no problem running the Consumer Preview of Windows 8 but the final release now tells me it is not compatible with Office 2003.
Do I go ahead and try it as i have already bought it ?

If you have a Microsoft Office 2003 suite or application on your PC, you will have problems running it on Windows 8. We recommend you upgrade Office to a newer version that is compatible with Windows 8.
