Were you ever, when 18 or younger, inappropriately groped, goosed, touched, rubbed against, harangued, verbally abused or humiliated, propositioned by an older man?

A quick survey of my wife, family and friends shows the majority were, including in the workplace, and nothing was ever done about it.

I suppose, AOG, she had assaulted you and had committed an offence so you could have reported her. Maybe I have double standards...I don't know... but I would have taken that as a bit of innocent grown up fun to lighten the boredom of a supermarket queue.

Sqad, I put this in news because it IS topical. It is a response to those women currently claiming they were groped/abused/assaulted/pressured by famous men years ago - not just JS.

It didn't sound like a sexual thing in your case. There was a perception that a married woman would soon be pregnant & leaving the company.(Not to many unmarried mothers then)
As you said, it was a woman who queried your 'hidden' engagement.

Im not over 40 but yes it has happened to me several times, also to friends as adults and children. It was quite rife as well..sadly.

Just back from the Club where I had lunch with the maths master of a large Birmingham Comprehensive and he was discussing the behavior of girls in his class....14-16yearolds

Yes definitely when at work in the 60's (I was 18) but it was accepted, I did complain once and got removed from MY job, thats how things were.
