Caretaker took my car for MOT; failed on 6 counts. I used my usual centre (after hol) failed on 2 counts. Cost me £200 to fix wheel bearing & light, but 'free pass' after repair.

Why are MOTs so varied ?

Yes, the sad thing is that many garages hope to create work for themselves. There is also natural subjectivity in many of the areas in an MOT. It is not a black and white thing in some areas.

Because some places use it to create work for themselves.

Did the caretaker go to Kwik Fit?
