I understand that Paddy, not feeling you can take on another dog, and sympathise. Your namesake is one of nine dogs here; he's "merely" the third wolfhound; so taking on another was a bit easier than for normal, sane, households. His breeder, incidentally, has 14 adult wolfhounds; it can get addictive!
He's answering to the babyish 'Pad- Pad', at present. That's simply because the puppy is responding to the first hard sound in the name or word. I promise I'll have him addressed by, and responding to, your proper name shortly; whether that's as 'Pod-rick','Porrick', 'Padrick' or any other version. (It'll end up being Paddy, regardless)
