1) Whose corner emporia were renowned for music & food?

2) Who got out of a tight corner to bring home silverware?

Could 1) be Lyons' Corner Houses? I had a look on Google under Lyons and there were orchestras and food halls in them. Sound lovely!

For 2) I'd suggest Amir Khan (boxer who won a silver medal at the Olympics in 2004) or Liverpool FC, who won the European Cup this year after trailing 3-0 at HT in the final. Sounds like a sports-related answer, anyway.
