Has anyone got any idea how to "sew in the sleeves using the semi-set in method" on a hand knitted garnment? I've tried Googling it for my Mum but haven't found anything useful.

OMG what kind of reply is that??
I was wondering if blessing knows how to sew up hand knitted garments
eh!!!!!!!!!!!!
jusr reported blessing on anotehr thread and it vanished
And miraculously so has this one!
What the flick is going on?
Blessing, first to answer this question, gave her e-mail address and promised to send photos of herself to anyone who cared to reply to it.
I should imagine that Rusticmaid would consider it a blessing if someone attempted to answer her question rather than dwelling on the antics of a pathetic troll.

I would - but I'm rubbish at sewing.
Same on a joke I just posted. Assume she is now gone, for good I hope.
Never heard of it rusticmaid and I have knitted all my life. I would just sew it in pinning it first to make sure it fits and then go ahead. Is it an American pattern? They might have different methods over there.
Me again. It might be better if you sew the sleeves in first before you sew the side seams.
Sorry - not very good at explaining. Don't sew the side seams or the sleeve seams but sew the shoulder seams together and then set the top of the sleeves into the armhole space. Then sew the sides of the sleeves and the side seams all in one go. I hope you understand this.
It shows you here how to do it

Thank you Boxtops and Starbuckone, I've made notes on the video and copied your explanation so I think my Mum should be able to follow these (she does not have the internet). Thank you Naomi24, you are right I did require a sensible answer. I have used this site for a number of years and I am saddened by the antics of a few people who do not understand the concept of helping others. Thank you to those people who do understand the spirit of this site.
