Thinking of getting one of these but do not know much about what they can do...will I be able to come on here via this for instance..I know about music/film downloads but can I surf the web also ??Sorry for my ignorance..not a techie !!

do I need a wireless connection and go through existing IP or what.. how is the Internet paid for is there a pay as you go thingy or do I pay amazon a subscription ? Really do not know how it works as you can see !!!

If you want an updated kindle with added functionality - Skype, email, video film playback, browsing the web, audio etc - then this is a cheap tablet.

If you want an all-singing all dancing fully featured tablet computer, then this is not the machine for you. For instance, you are stuck with the silk browser. You cannot access all Android apps.You cannot use the kindle as a camera (although you can use it to make skype or messenger video chats/calls)

So, think of it as a cheap and niche tablet, and its worth it. Otherwise, save up for an ipad or similar :)
