i am making a microwave clootie dumpling,the recipe says 'use microwavable roasting bags,'wont ordinary ones do ?

do you have a microwave-able bowl? cover it with clingfilm and pierce to let the steam through.
Let it cool a bit before removing from microwave.

i dont know,i have a knorr shake and stir thingy,i'll just omit the spices and use that,as its a recipe for microwave.

right'i will just go and chance this,its for my ex's birthday,he is 65 tomorrow.
Keep a close eye on it then, in case the plasticky stuff looks like it's shrinking or breaking up!

just googled it alba and it says you can just use cling film,thank you

Mr Alba's gran used to make a mean clootie, steamed in the cloth etc.
Moist as anything, unfortunately she took her recipe with her :-(
