Ascertain viewing and listening figures for Radio and TV?
I have often wondered how it works....
Firstly how do they aceheive the figure?
Is it calculated by the number of people listening/watching at the commencement of the show or throughout??
I was told that a % of TVs have a 'tracker' fitted that sends details of what was watched and when. Then they calculate how many people watch from the results.
We were asked to fill out a record of what we listened to and when on the radio some months back.
The booklet was collected a week later but I can't remember the name of the company carrying out the survey.
Interesting statement.
"The channel viewed the longest in a clock minute is attributed the viewing of that minute. Viewing at anything other than normal speed (fast forwarding/rewinding live or recorded content) is not reported. "
We rarely watch anything Live these days with Sky Plus.
So this is counted as recorded and thus not measured ?
Even when a program is on live , we record it and start watching 15 minutes into the start , so we can Fast forward the dull adverts.
