Have Chelsea dug themselves into a hole over Clattenburggate?

I heard that the refs will refuse to officiate in Chelsea games unless this whole thing is dropped. I think it's a misunderstanding by someone getting confused about what he said due to his Geordie accent. I can't see anything coming of all this.

Chelsea are bad losers, always have been

It's like one of those lies people tell that they have to carry on with or face losing face

Plus it conveniently deflects the heat away from John Terry, suddenly they've gone from sinners to (allegedly) sinned against
Accents can be confusing.I heard a traffic report on te radio the other day and the Geordie lass said the M1 North had a lane closed due to a "Vampire"

Took me a while to work out she said "Van fire"

Clattenburg could have said "Why aye man can a ya see"
